KYC & Account Verification
What KYC is, documents needed, and common verification problems.
- What is KYC and why do sweepstakes casinos require it?
- KYC (Know Your Customer) is identity verification required before you can redeem Sweepstakes Coins for prizes. It is mandated by US payment processor rules and anti-money-laundering law. Without KYC you can play with Gold Coins, but you cannot cash out SC prizes.
- What documents do I need for KYC?
- Standard requirements are: government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport), proof of address dated within 90 days (utility bill, bank statement, or lease), and occasionally a selfie holding the ID. Some operators also ask for a photo of your deposit payment method.
- How long does KYC approval take?
- Most operators complete KYC review within 24-72 hours. During peak periods (end of month, post-promo) this can extend to 5 business days. Submit documents at the minimum redemption threshold so the first payout is not delayed.
- My KYC was rejected — what next?
- Common rejection reasons: ID photo blurry, document expired, address mismatch, or using a VPN. Resubmit with corrected documents. If your state is not supported by the operator, KYC will fail regardless — check the operator's state eligibility list.
- Can I use someone else's ID for KYC?
- No. Using another person's identity is fraud and will void winnings, result in permanent ban, and may be reported to authorities. Each person can hold exactly one account per operator. This is enforced by device fingerprinting and cross-operator data sharing.
