Our Editorial Team
Every review on SweepsHQ is authored by a named analyst with domain expertise and a tested conflict-of-interest policy. Here is who writes and edits our content.
Our Editorial Standards
SweepsHQ operates under a strict editorial independence policy. Operators are rated on a fixed 50-point methodology — no operator can pay for a higher score or purchase placement in our rankings. Every review is tested hands-on: our analysts create real accounts, make real redemptions, and interact with customer support before a rating is published.
Each team member has a defined coverage area and a conflict-of-interest recusal protocol. If an analyst has or has had a prior professional relationship with an operator, they do not author that operator's review. These standards are described in detail on our Methodology page.
Meet the Team
Marcus Chen
Senior Casino Analyst
Marcus brings 8 years of iGaming industry experience to SweepsHQ. Before joining, he worked as a compliance analyst at a licensed sportsbook, where he reviewed operator documentation and player dispute escalations. He has personally completed the full sign-up, play, and withdrawal cycle at more than 40 sweepstakes casinos, which means the ratings he authors reflect actual tested outcomes — not surface-level impressions. Marcus leads our operator vetting process and authors the Trust & Licensing section of every major review. He does not accept gifts, review credits, or any form of compensation from operators he evaluates, and declares any prior professional relationship with an operator before authoring a review.

Sarah Rodriguez
Bonus & Promotions Editor
Sarah holds a background in consumer finance and spent several years evaluating financial product disclosures for regulatory clarity before transitioning into iGaming editorial work. At SweepsHQ, she is responsible for decoding the bonus terms that operators often bury in fine print. She evaluates wagering requirements, time limits, game contribution percentages, and the gap between advertised and actual bonus value. Her work specifically flags predatory structures — unrealistically high playthrough requirements, restricted withdrawal windows, and ambiguous coin-type distinctions — so readers can make genuinely informed decisions. Sarah does not accept gifted accounts, promotional credits, or any operator incentive that could influence her assessments.

David Park
Legal Research Editor
David holds a law degree but is not a practicing attorney and does not provide legal advice. His role at SweepsHQ is research-only: tracking how sweepstakes law is interpreted on a state-by-state basis, monitoring regulatory developments, and ensuring our compliance notices are accurate and current. When states update their consumer protection frameworks or AG offices issue guidance on sweepstakes promotions, David reviews the changes and updates our legal disclaimer language accordingly. He also reviews the standard rules documents published by each operator and flags discrepancies between their stated terms and actual practices. David does not accept any form of compensation from operators covered in legal or compliance contexts, and he recuses himself from scoring any operator whose published rules he helped evaluate.
